Replacement of EXTEL WAVE 2 door station microphone

You can't hear your visitors, or your video doorphone makes a loud crackling noise. The microphone on your door station seems to be malfunctioning. Before any intervention or maintenance, please turn off the power to each component of your video doorphone and place yourself on a suitable surface so as not to scratch the lens

Materials needed:

Phillips screwdriver, BTR 1.5mm, plastic spatula, precision pliers, B7000 glue

Tutorial steps:

Step 1: Remove the front panel and battery

Position your door station so that you have access to the underside.
Use the 1.5mm BTR screwdriver to tighten the safety screw.
Turn the screwdriver anticlockwise to tighten the safety screw.
ATTENTION: The safety screw uses a left-hand thread.

Insert the 1.5mm BTR screwdriver into the left-hand slot.

Lever up to remove the front panel.

Set the ON/OFF slider to OFF.

Remove the battery by pulling it downwards.

Step 2: Remove the back panel

Turn the door station over and, using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the 6 screws on the back of the door station.

Step 3: Dismantling the circuit board

Carefully disconnect the microphone connector by pulling it upwards with precision pliers. Be careful not to pull on the wires.

Unscrew the 4 screws holding the door station in place to gain access to the bottom connectors

Use the plastic spatula to gently lift your PCB out of its housing.
1- Carefully disconnect the speaker connector
2- Gently disconnect the call button connector
3- Carefully disconnect the infrared LED connector

Tilt the circuit board to the left so that it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the operation.

Step 4: Speaker replacement

Gently peel off the protective sheet using the plastic spatula.
WARNING, do not damage or bend it, as it will need to be reinstalled later.

Unscrew white pressure plate with Phillips screwdriver
Then remove it using the plastic spatula.

Using the plastic spatula, lever the edge of the speaker to loosen it.
Remove the speaker

Make sure the speaker is identical to the original.
Using B7000 glue, apply a thin strip of glue to the edges of the micro housing.
Glue the loudspeaker back together in the same direction as when disassembling, applying gentle pressure.
Wait 5 minutes.

Route the speaker wire under the battery gasket.
Reposition and screw on the pressure plate.

Reposition and reattach the protective sheet.

Step 5: Reassemble the circuit board

Temporarily reposition the circuit board on the chassis.
Ensure that the battery connector seal is correctly positioned
First, reconnect the lower connections:
1- Speaker
2- Call button
3- Infrared LEDs

Make sure the antenna wire is positioned on the left side of the chassis and reinstall the circuit board.
To aid positioning, guide holes are provided on the circuit board.

Make sure the ON/OFF switch on the door station is easily accessible.

Make sure the antenna wire is always correctly positioned and not twisted or pinched.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the 4 screws holding the circuit board in place.

Reconnect the microphone.

Step 6: Reassembling the door station

Turn the door station over and, using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the 6 screws on the back of the door station.

Reconnect the battery. Pay attention to the direction of insertion.
Switch to ON position.
Don’t forget to reassociate the monitor with the door station.
Test short-range operation before final reinstallation.
